Weight Loss Procedures

Your Body Mass Index, or BMI, is a ratio of your weight to height that is used to determine if you are a good candidate for bariatric surgery. Though it does not actually measure the percentage of body fat, it is a useful tool to estimate a healthy body weight based on an individual’s height.

You may qualify for bariatric surgery if you have a BMI of 40 and above or you have a BMI of 35 to 39.9 along with a serious medical condition such as hypertension, sleep apnea, Type II diabetes or other serious cardiopulmonary disorder.
